Dr Joseph Chikvashvili DDS is an industry leading endodontist who specializes in highly complex and difficult to treat dental and oral issues. He serves as a specialist member of the American Association of Endodontics, is currently Director of Endodontics at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, and is owner and director at his private practice Advanced Endodontics in West Orange, NJ.
Dr Chikvashvili graduated with a B.S. degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, MD, Honors Program in June of 1996. He completed his D.D.S. degree in May 2001 from the University of Maryland, College of Dental Surgery, where he was President of his Senior Class. He was named Chief Resident at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, where he completed his general training. It was here that he met his mentor, and endodontic pioneer Noah Chivian. Inspired by Dr Chivian’s innovative approach to treatment and surgery, Dr. Chikvashvili completed his post-graduate training in endodontics at Boston University, Goldman School of Dental Medicine where he received his C.A.G.S. in June of 2005. In 2013, he received a certificate for completing a 2-year CDE course in implantology at NYU. He served as President of Essex County Dental Society in 2012 and recently, as Past President of the NJ Association of Endodontists. He remains actively involved in leading endodontic organizations. He lives in Montclair, New Jersey with his wife and three children, and enjoys playing basketball and tennis in his spare time.
Liza Isaac, DDS, MSD, grew up in Tenafly, New Jersey. She received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University, earning her Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences. While attending Cornell, Dr. Isaac earned the Rose Scholar Award for outstanding community service. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from New York University. During dental school, she was selected into the prestigious Honors in Research program, which is offered to a small group of students with a high level of academic achievement, emphasizing her commitment to evidence-based care. During this time, Dr. Isaac published an article in the Journal of Patient Experience to examine the concordance between patients’ experience and expression of unpleasant emotions while in a dental setting. She then completed a general practice residency at Mount Sinai Hospital, where she received advanced training in emergency, hospital, digital, aesthetic, and implant dentistry in various clinics across New York City. After graduating from Mount Sinai, Dr. Isaac was accepted directly into the combined MSD/CAGS Advanced Education Program in Endodontics at Boston University Henry Goldman School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Isaac is a member of the American Association of Endodontics (AAE) and American Dental Association (ADA). Dr. Isaac is committed to ensuring her patients feel comfortable while providing the highest quality of care. She prioritizes discussing each stage of the treatment with her patients to help them feel informed, relaxed, and confident about their care. In her free time, she enjoys exercising, spending time with her family and friends, husband and miniature dachshund.
